Ricoh copier maintenance experience

Ricoh copiers account for a large proportion of many copier brands in the current market. It is favored by the majority of users for its fast copying speed, clear graphics and texts, stable performance and long service life. However, in the process of use, with the increase of the number of copies, there are bound to be some problems that the speed ratio can reach 1million times one way or another. In order to let the readers reduce unnecessary expenses, the author completed the 04 special adjustment work. Taking the 4495 copier as an example, the author divided some small experience into several parts to introduce to you, and please criticize and correct the shortcomings

I. questions about paper

1 Paper jam

the problem of paper jam occurs in the whole process of using the copier, which is mainly caused by the following five aspects: first, the paper specification is wrong, that is, it is lower than 50g/m2, at this time, the front end of the paper cannot correctly enter the fixing part, causing paper jam; Second, the paper is too wet. When the paper is just separated, it curls and causes paper jam; Third, there is too much carbon on the transfer separation electrode wire, resulting in uneven distribution of current on the electrode wire, partial discharge and unable to completely eliminate the charge on the paper, and the paper cannot enter the fixing position correctly, resulting in paper jam; Fourth, the electrode seat is broken down. When the electrode seat is opened, if there is a lightning black belt or dot patch on it, the reason for paper jam must be here. At this time, the black belt or dot patch can be ground off with sandpaper, and the electrode seat can be replaced if necessary. This phenomenon is one of the main reasons for paper jam; Fifthly, the paper take-up wheel is aging. If the paper jam often appears in the paper feeding part, at this time, it will be found that a small part of the paper always enters the copier, and most of it remains outside. The main reason is that the paper take-up wheel is aging, and the paper cannot be sent to the "track" normally. The solution is to replace the paper take-up wheel

2. Wrinkle

this phenomenon often occurs when duplicating on both sides. Generally speaking, it is also related to the specification and dry humidity of the paper. For example, the specification and dry humidity of the paper do not meet the requirements. When the front side is printed, the paper has curled, and when the back side is reprinted, wrinkles will inevitably appear after being squeezed by the fusing roller. Another is related to the fixing part, which consists of hot roller, pressure roller, separation claw, oil supply felt, oil scraper, etc. With the continuous increase of the number of copies of the copier, more and more powder is accumulated on the felt. When encountering heat, it forms powder lumps on it, which is very easy to scratch the hot roller one by one, and will also reduce the oil supply, resulting in uneven pressure and heat at the hot roller, resulting in wrinkles, and sometimes dragging one or more small tails behind the printed handwriting

it can be seen that we should try to use paper with better specifications, pay attention to moisture resistance, and often clean the fusing parts, such as the stained felt and oil scraper should be cleaned and replaced frequently, so as to avoid losing too much for small

3. Double sided copy

the problems of double-sided copy mainly include paper jam and pleated crepe. Pleated crepe has been discussed above. Here we mainly study paper jam. This phenomenon is particularly serious with B5 paper (placed vertically), because after copying the front side, the paper will carry a large amount of charge. When copying the back side, it is difficult for the separation electrode wire to successfully separate the paper with a large amount of charge, resulting in the paper can not correctly fall on the conveyor belt, and cannot reach the fixing position, so that "the front is not in the village, the back is not in the store", resulting in paper jam. While other paper types are wider than B5 paper, even if they cannot fall on the conveyor belt, they will continue to move forward until they enter the fixing part because of the driving effect at the back. Therefore, we only need to put B5 paper horizontally to solve such problems. Practice has proved that this is very effective. The method is to change the iron clip on the right side of the front end of the paper tray from B5 type to B5R type, and then adjust the paper position in the paper tray to B5R

II. Questions about images

1 Background dirt

with the continuous increase of copier copies, background dirt will appear on the copies, which is likely to be caused by dirt on the glass plate or dust on each reflector. You can wipe them piece by piece along the light path. Another possibility is that the selenium drum will have scratches or spots on its surface due to long-term use, which will cause little elongation and there are black lines or black blocks on the copy. At this time, you can replace it with a new drum. However, when the total number of copies reaches 250000, even using the above two methods can not solve the problem of background dirt. At this time, we can increase the exposure lamp voltage to 35V or 40V through esp48, which can solve this problem. If it still doesn't work, you can open the back cover of the copier. There is an exposure light control board in the lower right corner, on which there is an adjuster. We can rotate it clockwise, and we must adjust it bit by bit until the background is clean. This method has a very obvious effect

2. Shallow image (low image density) the main reasons for this phenomenon are as follows: first, there is a lack of powder. Sometimes it is a lack of powder, but the copier does not show a lack of powder state. At this time, you can replace the powder; Second, this phenomenon will also occur when the carrier is used for a long time; Third, the ID sensor is dirty. Due to the long-term operation of the copier, some waste powder will fall on the ID sensor. When the waste powder covers the "cat's eye" in the middle of the sensor, it will detect that the powder supply is always enough, so it will no longer prompt to add powder or a small amount of powder. At this time, even if the selenium drum, carrier and toner are replaced, the image is still very shallow. Then just wipe the ID sensor clean, and pay attention to gently wipe it to prevent waste powder from falling into the sensor; Fourth, when the number of sheets of paper in the copier reaches 300000 ~ 400000, even using the above methods will not help. At this time, we can open the back cover of the copier and increase the image density by adjusting the main charging voltage regulator in the upper left corner. The image density increases, and the background will also turn black. We can lighten the background by adjusting the background dirt mentioned above. The two work together, and the effect is excellent

3. At this time, we can pull out the main charging electrode wire and adjust the depth of the small plastic screw at the front end to adjust the depth of the image at this end until it is the same as the other end

4. The image is all white

the problem mainly lies in the electrode wire. The first is the main charging electrode wire (located above the selenium drum), and the second is the transfer separation electrode wire (located below the selenium drum). The main reason is that there is too much powder on the electrode wire or electrode base due to long-time work. When the current passes through the powder accumulation, it will discharge a large amount or break down the electrode base. It cannot be charged or transferred normally. If it cannot be charged, the image cannot hit the surface of the selenium drum. Of course, it is all white, that is, the proportion is not low in the chemical industry, so that the image can not be printed on the selenium drum and cannot be transferred, which is also all white. Therefore, as long as all electrode wires are cleaned, they can be replaced if necessary. If the electrode holder is broken down, the black spot should be polished off with sandpaper, and it can be replaced when it is serious

III. maintenance

the price of a copier is generally about 25000 yuan. If it can be well maintained, it is no problem to make it copy 200000 more copies, and the economic value it creates is self-evident. So how to do the maintenance work well? Generally, it can be carried out from the following aspects: 1 Clean frequently. Including all lenses along the optical path, hot rollers, electrode wires, scrapers, ID sensors, etc. the gears behind the copier should also be cleaned regularly, and a few drops of lubricating oil should also be dropped on some chains to avoid grinding the gears flat

2. Replace it in time. The oil scraper, oil supply felt and separation claw at the fusing part should be cleaned frequently and replaced if necessary, otherwise the hot roller will be scratched due to powder accumulation and boils. The powder scraper on the left side of the selenium drum, the paper take-up wheel at the paper feeding position, and several gears at the front end of the powder supply bin are all vulnerable parts. I hope you don't damage large parts because you don't solve the problems in small places in time

3. Use good quality consumables

in a word, the above situations do not include the damage of large parts, such as the main control board, high-pressure package and so and so clutch. The author often sees statements about the need to replace the main control board and so and so high-voltage package in the copier maintenance manual, but these devices are not easy to be damaged in actual work, often due to other reasons. So I hope you don't blindly replace expensive large parts
